A Winter Wonderland of Crunch
Transform simple ingredients into a magical holiday confection. These White Chocolate Peppermint Noodle Nests look like they're covered in fresh snow and are bursting with cool peppermint flavor. The chow mein noodles provide an unexpected and delightful crunch that perfectly complements the smooth white chocolate. They're as fun to make as they are to eat!
Materials
- 12 oz high-quality white chocolate chips or wafers
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 5 oz can of chow mein noodles (about 3 cups)
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
Preparation
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place peppermint candies in a zip-top bag and gently crush them with a rolling pin or mallet. Set aside.
Cooking
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Be careful not to overheat white chocolate.
- Stir the peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
- Add the chow mein noodles and half of the crushed peppermint candies to the bowl. Gently fold until everything is coated.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheet, using the back of the spoon to form a small nest shape.
- Sprinkle the remaining crushed peppermint over the top of the nests.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes, or until fully set.
