Spice Up Your Snack Game
Get ready for a flavor explosion! These jalapeño poppers are not for the faint of heart. They combine the heat of fresh jalapeños, the rich creaminess of a two-cheese filling, and the unbeatable savory crunch of bacon. They're the perfect bite to kick off any party or enjoy during the big game.
Materials
- 8 large jalapeño peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 8 slices of bacon, halved
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and membranes. For less heat, remove all white parts.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and chopped green onions. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
Cooking
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a half-slice of bacon, stretching it slightly to cover the pepper.
- Place the wrapped poppers on the prepared baking sheet, cheese-side up.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and browned and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- For extra crispy bacon, you can broil them for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
