National Kindness Week 2025 in Canada Special Edition
This week’s theme is about uniting kindness, and we’re thrilled to wrap up National Kindness Week 2025 with an extra-special edition of our AI Food Prompt Friday series. In collaboration with our inspiring partners at Global Dignity Canada, we’ve conceptualized a unique line of dignity and kindness themed food products that blend art, creative entrepreneurship, and food security—all of which have been integral to our projects over the last decade.
A Celebration Rooted in Legislation
National Kindness Week is celebrated every year during the third week of February across Canada. In 2021, the Kindness Week Act was passed, formally recognizing the transformative power of kind acts and establishing this week as a time to promote compassion, dignity, and unity nationwide. This landmark legislation has since fostered an annual celebration that encourages communities to engage in meaningful, ripple-effect kindness.
We’ve proudly branded each product with the symbols of Canada and the three founding countries of Global Dignity—Norway, Finland, and the United States—emphasizing our shared commitment to making a positive impact on food security and the arts.
Although we might not yet be able to bite into a “kindness bar,” we can still share the values behind it: every act of kindness sends out a ripple effect, touching lives far and wide.
Our innovative approach to food product prototyping and experiential design goes beyond creating imaginary food products with AI. It’s also a valuable part of our weekly series focused on digital literacy and prompt literacy—teaching participants how to effectively craft and refine prompts to guide AI responses. Understanding prompt literacy empowers individuals to communicate clearly with AI tools, enhancing creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in the digital age.
Kindness and dignity have a lasting impact, reaching farther than we often realize. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue making a difference throughout the year. Maybe this could be a great project for our summer program, especially with our food security and food production program in full swing!

About our Winter 2025 Arts program
As part of our AI Food Prompt Fridays series, this challenge is not just about creating stunning food imagery—it’s about exploring the broader landscape of digital literacy, media arts and how generative AI tools are shaping the future of creativity. Engaging with AI to craft these images, artists develop a deeper understanding of AI-assisted design, digital media, and visual storytelling. This exploration fosters critical skills in creative problem-solving, prompt crafting, and mastering new technology, empowering artists to push the boundaries of their craft while enhancing their digital fluency. Through this process, we’re not only creating art but also learning to navigate the evolving intersection of technology and creativity. Our 2025 Winter and Fall program activities are supported by Global Dignity Canada, the OpenAI Researcher Access Program and the Manitoba Arts Council.
