#CIW24: Building a Sustainable Development Goals Action Tracker

Inclusivity and awareness are central to Art Borups Corners's approach, with a specific emphasis on social programming and sectoral inclusion within Northern communities.
Jamie Bell 16 May 2024

Today’s theme for Canadian Innovation Week is about Sustainability Solutions.

To help track their commitment to raising awareness about, and tracking its own performance towards advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, the project team developed a simple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Action Tracker. This set of pages lets users learn about examples from our project activities aligned by individual goals. It’s also a different approach to sharing our stories instead of by regular categories like “news” and “events.”

Check out the Niriqatiginnga Sustainable Development Goals Action Tracker at: http://artsincubator.ca/sdgs

Many of Niriqatiginnga’s activities are designed to support the incubation of community economic development opportunities by strengthening skills and talent, regional economic planning, and attracting local and regional investments. The program has a very strong focus on sustainable job creation and advancing economic reconciliation aims to create a positive impact for future opportunities, both individual and organizational.

Inclusivity and awareness are central to Niriqatiginnga’s approaches, with a specific emphasis on social programming and sectoral inclusion in partnership with Southern and Northern communities. This emphasis is is aimed at advancing sector involvement, increasing organizational capacity for early planning and development in food systems research, and promoting a more inclusive and sustainable sector as a whole.

Celebrating Canadian Innovation Week 2024

Canadian Innovation Week celebrates Canada’s unique innovation landscape, where diversity fuels creativity and stability fosters progress. #CIW24 recognizes the courage of problem-solvers tackling challenges on the spot – acknowledging every sector, embracing innovators at all stages, and uniting everyone under the banner of potential and inclusivity. Based on the strong upward momentum observed since early 2025, the site is projected to reach approximately 2.82 million total visits by the end of 2026. This trajectory, illustrated by the dashed forecast line, represents a significant 165% increase over the previous year's estimated traffic, driven by a consistent month-over-month growth trend that accelerated in late 2025.
