Monthly Meet-Up: Dyment & Borups Corners Plan Spring & Summer Arts

Residents of Dyment and Borups Corners came together this week for their regular monthly gathering, held at the Dyment Recreation Hall. The event provided a relaxed setting for community members from both locales to connect and converse.

The gathering featured an array of activities including food, games, and informal discussions. Attendees engaged in wide-ranging conversations, touching on local happenings and community interests. Topics spanned from updates on neighbourhood events to the planning and anticipation of upcoming arts initiatives.

A significant portion of the discussions centred around spring and summer arts programming. Residents explored ideas for professional development workshops, potential exhibitions, and festivals slated for the coming seasons. The lively exchange highlighted the community’s keen interest in enriching local arts and culture throughout the warmer months.

Art Borups Corners

Art Borups Corners is a dynamic participatory arts collective and living lab, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. It's a space where innovation and creativity thrive. The program was founded in 2014, with its arts incubator established in 2021 and 2022 with funding and support from the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse. Today, working with students and faculty from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, we fuse traditional and participatory media arts with artificial intelligence, music, storytelling and community-driven, land-based artist residencies to cultivate new voices and bold ideas. Whether through collaborative projects or immersive experiences, our small but vibrant community supports creators to explore, experiment, and connect.
