Materials
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips or chunks
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Preparation
- Make a quick berry drizzle: blend 1 cup of mixed berries with 1 tablespoon of sugar until smooth. If desired, strain to remove seeds.
- Prepare fry bread dough: combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add warm water to form a soft dough. Rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide dough into 6 portions and flatten into discs.
- Preheat your oven's broiler.
Cooking
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the dough discs for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.
- Place the fried breads on a baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle the milk chocolate chips over the hot bread so they begin to melt.
- Top evenly with mini marshmallows.
- Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 30-60 seconds, watching constantly, until the marshmallows are puffed and toasted to a golden brown.
