This project represents an experimental program situated at the intersection of human creativity, interdisciplinary arts, and applied artificial intelligence research. It investigates how digital tools can collaborate in the writing process, shaping new forms of storytelling, scriptwriting, and enhancing digital literacy skills and workflows.
The collection today explores diverse genres, from the stark realities of Dystopian futures and the complexities of Romance, to the reflective journeys of Coming-of-Age and the everyday textures of Contemporary Fiction. Authors Jamie F. Bell, Leaf Richards, and Eva Suluk present these works.

Inside, the hushed murmur of the craft fair provided a strange counterpoint to the quiet intensity brewing between two strangers, a sense of something profound and slightly unnerving beginning to unfurl.
Storytelling and the Arts, Skills Development and Digital Transformation
AI-Assisted Storytelling and Scriptwriting: Within our research into “Storytelling and the Arts,” we’re investigating AI’s contribution to creative development across various genres. For narratives spanning Romance, Coming-of-Age, Contemporary Fiction, and Dystopian settings, we explore how AI can assist in developing character relationships, crafting emotional arcs, and building immersive worlds. Specifically, we study its capacity to generate compelling dialogue for romantic encounters, create authentic adolescent experiences for coming-of-age stories, and construct the intricate socio-political landscapes vital for dystopian narratives, all to enhance storytelling and scriptwriting.
Talent Development and Training: This exploration directly informs our understanding of the new skills required for creative professionals in a rapidly digitizing landscape. The process of developing stories within Romance, Coming-of-Age, Contemporary Fiction, and Dystopian frameworks, often in collaboration with AI, exemplifies the future of digital publishing and film production workflows. Our research emphasizes the need for enhanced digital literacy and the strategic management of AI tools, enabling creators to streamline their creative processes and push the boundaries of narrative innovation.

About the Project
By design, these stories have no beginning and no end. Many stories are fictional, but many others are not. They are snapshots from worlds that never fully exist, inviting you to imagine what comes before and what happens next. We had fun exploring this project, and hope you will too.
The Unfinished Tales and Short Stories collection is an interdisciplinary arts and narrative storytelling experiment. It is part of a creative arts and research program by The Arts Incubator Winnipeg and the Art Borups Corners collectives. This project focuses on two key areas: AI-Assisted Storytelling and Scriptwriting, exploring AI for generating ideas, plot structures, and alternative story arcs; and Talent Development and Training, studying the skills and training needs for creative professionals managing AI and immersive technologies to inform future training curricula.
