Our summer turn toward growing and food production

The tomatoes in our land lab are filling out nicely this summer, and it’s a good sight to see.

As many know, most of our energy goes toward the arts. But when summer arrives, a good part of our attention shifts outside. We’ve spent years working on projects around food security, sustainable growing, and local production, and it’s work we return to every season.

Right now, that work looks like strong vines and green fruit slowly turning into something worth harvesting.

It’s a nice rhythm. The creative work keeps going, but there’s something grounding about tending a crop and watching it come along.

We’ll keep checking on them as the weeks warm up. For now, the land lab is doing exactly what it should even if it has been brutally hot this summer!
