A beautiful monarch pauses among the flowers as its southward migration begins.

Our beautiful monarch butterfly seems to have found the perfect place for a little rest.

As summer gives way to autumn, monarch butterflies are beginning their long journey south. For this tiny traveller, there is still time for one more flower, one more patch of sunshine and a quiet moment before heading on.

Soon, the monarchs will continue south toward its wintering grounds in Mexico, following a journey that spans generations.

For now, though, it is simply a beautiful butterfly taking a well-earned break.
