Harvesting Inspiration: Blending Nature’s Bounty with Digital Artistry
The summer program just flew by. It was full of adventures and a whole lot of pictures. This week, we’re taking a moment to look at them again, but with a new perspective. We’ve been diving into storytelling and digital manipulation, playing with filters, and using different tools to turn our collected photos into something totally new. It feels like we’re adding a new layer to our stories, not just documenting them, but giving them a new life with our own hands.
The conversion of the original photo of the blueberries into a different format really got me. It was just a simple drawing, but by playing with the colors and light, we made it feel so much more alive. It’s like we’re not just seeing the berries, but feeling the warmth of the day we picked them. This project has shown me that the real art isn’t just in the original shot, but in the happy accidents that happen when you sit down to create and manipulate.
Coming soon!
We’re excited to be taking all this creative energy into our Fall and Winter program with The Arts Incubator starting in late October. We’re going to use what we’ve learned this summer to create our own storybooks and publications. It’s all a part of telling our stories, and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. We’ll be meeting in-person and online every Wednesday and Saturday. A huge thanks to The Arts Incubator Winnipeg Hub, the Ontario Arts Council Inter and Multi-Arts Projects program, Art Borups Corners and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design Creative Entrepreneurship program; their support made this summer possible. We were really happy to be able to support some of these sessions from time to time and we really enjoyed it.
