This summer, our program has been dedicated to empowering artists in Northwestern Ontario, providing them with the tools to thrive in a challenging arts ecosystem. By merging traditional knowledge with contemporary digital technologies, we’ve focused on fostering self-employment and community-driven development. This work is only possible because of the incredible support we’ve received from a wide range of collaborators—from researchers and educators to the many artists who have contributed their time and expertise. We are deeply thankful for everyone who has helped us build a more vibrant and sustainable cultural sector.
Today, we’re extending a heartfelt thank you to Tanya McArthur, a long-time musician, crafter, and visual artist from Dryden, Ontario, celebrated for her beautiful watercolor paintings. Tanya has been a key organizer and has dedicated countless hours to supporting our events and activities this year. Her tireless work has been essential to the success of everything from our music events to professional development workshops and our artists markets. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, vision, and the passion she brings to everything she does.
This year’s program would not have been possible without the incredible support and funding from the Ontario Arts Council Multi and Inter-Arts Projects program. This year’s programming has also been supported by Ottawa-based Global Dignity Canada, the Local Services Board of Melgund, The Arts Incubator and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design Creative Entrepreneurship Program.
