Knitted Hats, Mittens and Booties Featured at July 1 Event in Dyment

Colour, craftsmanship and a whole lot of heart will be on display this Canada Day as Dryden artist Tanya McArthur brings a collection of handmade knitted creations to the Artist and Vendor Market at the Dyment Recreation Hall and Recreation Complex.

Known throughout the region as both an artist and performer, McArthur has long been a familiar face at community events across Northwestern Ontario. Her creative practice spans multiple disciplines, with mixed-media work that reflects a deep appreciation for handmade artistry and traditional craft.

Among the pieces headed to Dyment on July 1 are beautifully knitted hats, mittens, booties and other handcrafted items. Each piece showcases the care and attention that comes from work created by hand, offering visitors a chance to take home something both practical and uniquely local.

The Canada Day market is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer season in Melgund Township, bringing together artists, makers, vendors and community members for a day of shopping, conversation and entertainment. Visitors can browse a wide range of locally made products while enjoying live music and the welcoming atmosphere that has become a hallmark of events at the Dyment Recreation Hall.
