Shelves That Hold Us

Libraries are quiet acts of care. They hold memory without demanding attention, making space for curiosity, refuge, and return. Every shelf is a conversation across generations—ideas waiting patiently for the next reader to open them and carry them forward.

This week, as we organize the books and shelves at the Donald Suluk Library, we’re reminded that libraries aren’t just collections—they’re living commons. They grow through use, through hands that reach, learn, question, and imagine.

If you’re nearby, come spend some time with the stacks. And while you’re at it, I’d love for you to check out my new book, Unfinished With Care, written in the same spirit of sharing, reflection, and spirit that libraries make possible.
