Professional Communications Services for Your Community Organization

Clear messaging ensures your neighbours understand your mission and join your cause with absolute confidence.

How professional messaging helps non-profits build trust and reach more neighbours effectively.

The Value of Professional Communications

In every neighbourhood across our city, community groups are doing the heavy lifting of social change. Whether it is a community garden in the West End or an arts workshop in a local school, the impact is real and immediate. However, many organizations struggle to tell that story to the people who need to hear it most. This is where professional communications becomes a requirement rather than a luxury. We offer these services as a social enterprise to ensure your message is clear, accessible, and professional. When your outreach is handled with care, it bridges the gap between your mission and the support of your neighbours.

Effective storytelling is not just about making things look good. It is about making sure that the right person receives the right information at the right time. For a small non-profit, this might mean the difference between a successful program and one that goes unnoticed. We assist you in identifying who your audience is and what they need to hear from you. By professionalizing your approach, you show your partners and clients that you are a stable, reliable entity that respects their time and attention.

Why Clear Communications Build Stronger Neighbours

Trust is the primary currency of the non-profit sector. When you share an update or an appeal, your neighbours need to feel that the information is accurate, honest, and professional. If a newsletter is hard to read or a social media post is unclear, it can create an accidental barrier between you and the people you serve. We assist you in removing those barriers. Our team works with you to create a standard for how your organization speaks to the public. This includes everything from the tone of your emails to the way you present your annual reports to the board.

Professionalism in your messaging also signals accountability. When a community group communicates clearly about its goals and its results, it invites the community to participate with confidence. We help you develop templates and style guides that make this consistency possible, even if you do not have a full-time staff member dedicated to marketing. This structural support allows your team to focus on their core work while we handle the technical details of your public presence.

Practical PR and Media Engagement

Getting the attention of local media in Winnipeg or across the region is not about luck; it is about providing high-quality information in a format that journalists can use. We provide the technical support needed to build professional media kits and press releases. We help you identify the stories within your daily operations that the public will find most meaningful. Local outlets like community newspapers and radio stations are often looking for local stories, but they require them to be delivered with professional standards.

Our service includes the creation of fact sheets, media advisories, and backgrounders that make it easy for a reporter to cover your event or program. By acting as your PR partner, we ensure that when you have something important to say, the megaphone is ready. This kind of professional outreach helps move your organization from the sidelines into the public conversation, making it easier to attract new participants and partners.

Digital Accessibility and Inclusion

A message is only effective if everyone can receive it. We focus heavily on ensuring your digital communications are accessible to all neighbours. This means using plain language, high-contrast visuals, and formats that are friendly to screen readers. If a neighbour with a visual impairment or a different learning style cannot read your event announcement, the outreach has failed. We provide the checklists and technical oversight to make sure your digital presence is inclusive. This is not just a best practice; it is a matter of equity.

We also look at the practicalities of digital access in our region. Not every neighbour has a high-speed connection or the latest smartphone. We help you design your newsletters and websites to be lightweight and easy to load. By prioritizing accessibility, you demonstrate a commitment to every member of your community. This inclusive approach builds a deeper level of respect and connection with your audience.

Consistent Messaging for Long-Term Support

A single social media post is not a strategy. We help you look at your outreach over months and years. This involves creating a calendar that ensures your neighbours hear from you regularly, not just when you are in a state of urgent need. We focus on consistent messaging that builds a narrative of success and stability. When people see your organization appearing professionally and regularly in their inbox or feed, they begin to see you as a permanent fixture in the community.

As a social enterprise, we reinvest our resources into the health of the non-profit sector. When you hire us for your communications needs, you are working with a partner who understands the unique pressures of community work. We offer direct consultations to determine how our services can best fit your budget. Whether you need help with a single campaign or a long-term strategy, we are here to assist. Contact us today to learn how professional messaging can help you reach your goals and serve your neighbours better.

The Arts Incubator - Winnipeg is a participatory arts collective and living lab, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. It's a space where innovation and creativity thrive. It's latest iteration was launched in 2021 with funding and support from the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse. Today, working with students and faculty from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, we fuse traditional and participatory media arts with artificial intelligence, music, storytelling and community-driven, land-based artist residencies to cultivate new voices and bold ideas. Whether through collaborative projects or immersive experiences, our small but vibrant community supports creators to explore, experiment, and connect. Join us at the intersection of artistry, technology, culture and community—where every moment is a new opportunity to create.

April 1: Apply for the Under $100 Art Show in Winnipeg

Art Borups Corners 23 Mar 2026
In the 2026 Spring Arts Exhibition in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario, Inuit artist and filmmaker Eva Suluk showcases her acclaimed work from Isuma TV’s Inuit Makers series. Her eight-part documentary films capture traditional land-based practices, including caribou harvesting, butchering, and meat preservation, highlighting the intergenerational transfer of Inuit knowledge, skills, and storytelling. Shot in a meditative “Slow TV” style, Eva’s films provide an immersive glimpse into Inuit culture, northern Canadian traditions, and Indigenous heritage. Visitors can explore her work alongside visual art, photography, and interactive exhibits, connecting local audiences with northern Indigenous perspectives. Watch the full series on Isuma TV and experience the continuity of Inuit land-based practices and cultural storytelling.

Spring Exhibition 2026 welcomes Eva Suluk

This year’s Spring Arts Exhibition at the Dyment Recreation Hall in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario is proud to spotlight the powerful work of local Borups Corners artist Leanne Nicholson. Deeply rooted in the landscapes of northwestern Ontario, Leanne’s striking mixed-media practice—ranging from intricately painted skulls and antlers to evocative wildlife imagery—brings the spirit of the land into the space in a way that is both raw and deeply moving. We are excited to welcome her work into this year’s exhibition and to share her unique voice, shaped by nature, resilience, and lived experience, with the community.

This beautiful, but heavily worn, Volvo P1800 sports coupe—famous for its elegant design and starring role in The Saint—now sits quietly, its original red paint fading to purple. The distinct curves and chrome details are still visible beneath the rust, suggesting a glamorous life that ended here among the trees.
