Waiting for the Thaw at Richardson Green Corridor
This image is such a mood. Classic Winnipeg, honestly. There’s something so peaceful about the Richardson Green Corridor when it’s tucked under that thick layer of frost, but I totally get the bittersweet feeling. Those benches are usually the heart of the campus vibe, where you’d catch us caffeinating and spiraling into deep talks about everything and nothing. Seeing them buried like that feels like a literal pause button on our favorite tradition. It’s wild how a spot that’s usually so social can look so lonely when the wind chill hits a certain point.
We’ve been doing the whole “park bench meeting” thing for basically forever, and even though the snow is gorgeous, I’m definitely counting down the days until we don’t need three layers of wool just to sit outside. It’s funny how much you miss a simple wooden plank once it’s hidden under a foot of powder.
For now, the group chats and indoor coffee runs will have to carry us through, but the second that thaw starts, you know exactly where we’ll be. Can’t wait to trade the parkas for some actual sunlight and get the bench sessions back in rotation.
