What a sight to behold in Melgund Township this Canada Day! Nearly 100 people from all over the area poured into the Dyment Recreation Hall complex, making it a truly vibrant community gathering. With musical performances by Country Twist, featuring the talents of Gerry McArthur, Tanya McArthur, and Maurice Betournay, there was a fantastic atmosphere for everyone. From families with kids to older folks, everyone came out to celebrate, filling the hall and grounds with laughter, chatter, and a real sense of togetherness.

It was clear that the community was eager to celebrate, and the crowd certainly brought the energy. You could see folks catching up, making new friends, and just enjoying the good vibes and the lively tunes from Country Twist. The large turnout really showed how much Melgund Township values these opportunities to come together and celebrate what makes their community so special.

Administrator

The Arts Incubator - Winnipeg is a participatory arts collective and living lab, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. It's a space where innovation and creativity thrive. It's latest iteration was launched in 2021 with funding and support from the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse. Today, working with students and faculty from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, we fuse traditional and participatory media arts with artificial intelligence, music, storytelling and community-driven, land-based artist residencies to cultivate new voices and bold ideas. Whether through collaborative projects or immersive experiences, our small but vibrant community supports creators to explore, experiment, and connect. Join us at the intersection of artistry, technology, culture and community—where every moment is a new opportunity to create.

Our commitment to an Open Access model was built on a simple belief: stories this important shouldn't be locked behind a paywall. Because we chose to remove those barriers, our books aren't just "available"—they are everywhere. We have successfully moved from a local initiative to a global cultural export, with our titles now sitting on digital shelves in over 426 locations worldwide.
