Alaska Highway Adventures

Even a simple gas station becomes spectacular against this stunning backdrop.

Witnessing Yukon’s Soul-Stirring Peaks at Haines Junction.

You know how some places just hit you? Haines Junction, up in the Yukon, is one of those spots. It’s where those huge and majestic St. Elias Mountains just live right alongside regular life. And sometimes, even something totally normal, like a gas station, just looks amazing because of where it is.

Take that Fas Gas station in Haines Junction. I snapped this picture while walking along the Alaska Highway. Usually, a gas station is just, well, a gas station. But here? It’s got those massive, snowy mountains right behind it. Like, right there. You see those huge peaks, white with snow even when it’s getting warmer, and then there’s the gas station. It’s such a wild mix of nature and, well, giant, captivating mountains.

That’s what makes Haines Junction so incredible to see. It’s a real reminder that even when we’re just doing our thing, walking around, the big, wild world is always there, right in front of you, just asking you to notice it. Stopping by this place; it’s a chance to look up, and just take in how beautiful it is in this part of the world.

Seriously, in Haines Junction, even the everyday stuff looks amazing.
