For those who have followed us over the years, it’s well-known that most of us come from film and stage. But many of us also like to take time to paint! For us, painting isn’t some high-pressure mission or a technical grind—it’s just almost always purely for fun. It’s one activity where we don’t need a “second take” to make something that feels right, and that freedom is exactly why we keep coming back to it.
There is also something so grounding about a brush on a canvas. We usually are working on digital and fast-paced stuff, so painting gives us a kind of messy satisfaction. Messing with thick acrylics or just seeing where the watercolors go, it’s a totally different experience.
We’ve been busy with a lot of projects lately, and we’re looking forward to some good, old-fashioned painting.
And that’s why we’re planning a couple of community murals this summer with our sister hub, Art Borups Corners. This project will be about reminding us that we’re creators at our core no matter what tools we’re holding.
And we can’t wait to bring that same energy to those walls. Stay tuned!
