Happy Canada Day from all of us here at Art Borups Corners!
July 1st is always a wonderful opportunity to hit pause, fire up the barbecue, and reflect on the incredible place we get to call home. As people gather today in backyards, community parks, and town squares, we are reminded of the true strength of this country: the way we show up and support one another from coast to coast to coast.
Canada is at its best when we lift each other up, and today is a celebration of that shared spirit. Today’s festival, which runs from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. features live music, artists and vendors, terrific food and activities for all ages. We invite all those in the area from Ignace, Dryden, Wabigoon, Sioux Lookout and across Northwestern Ontario to come out and join us in Melgund Township.
We especially want to shine a light on the people who give our communities their heart and soul. To the artists and culture sector workers who tell our stories, the tireless volunteers who keep our local programs running, and the everyday community members who make our neighborhoods feel like home—thank you! Your passion and commitment are what make our communities vibrant, inclusive, and resilient. You represent the very best of what we can achieve when we work together.
As you celebrate today with family, friends, and neighbours, we hope your day is filled with good food, great company, and plenty of Canadian pride.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Canada Day!

Thank you to our supporters and sponsors from across Northwestern Ontario

Rentals, B&M Delivery Services, Safeway, Solomons, CKDR, Napa Auto Parts, Dingwall Ford Dryden, Suntract Contracting and Rentals, Bath Bomb Babe, The Arts Incubator Winnipeg, Ruby Hastings Smith Tupperware, Art Borups Corners, Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture, EMCON Services, Tupperware, Ella Lynn’s, Skene Transfer and Supply, Lacie Meens, P.I. Community events of this scale depend on consistent local involvement and collaboration. The 2026 Canada Day celebration stands as a strong example of what can be achieved when businesses, organizations, artists, and volunteers work together toward a shared purpose. The festival continues to develop as an important cultural focal point in Melgund Township, reinforcing community connections while supporting local arts, recreation, and broader economic activity.
