Our very first in-person workshops and public presentations are just around the corner! We’ve had a couple weeks now where we have not been able to meet, but restrictions are finally coming to an end and we will be able to start hosting our in-person workshops.

We are very happy to announce we are finally going to be able to have our hands-on cultural entrepreneurship workshops this month as well. Chocolatier Constance Popp on April 8 and we’re all looking forward to this exciting event.

Inuit Studies Conference Re-Scheduled for June

Our big session that was planned for the Inuit Studies Conference has been moved to June 19-22.

Winnipeg Art Gallery

We will be meeting at the Niizhwaaso Collaborative Learning Centre. While there we will be able to tour INUA, which is premiering for the opening exhibition of Qaumajuq, the new Inuit Art Centre. It’s an amazing space to behold, and we have not been able to go in and do group activities since it opened. This is one of our biggest workshops we will have this season, and we’re really excited to finally be able to have everyone come together.

Canada Council for the Arts Artists Profile Writing Workshop

A few of our group have asked about getting help writing their bios and artists resume to create an artists profile for the Canada Council for the Arts application portal. This was an incredibly well-received idea.

This experimental pilot program was made possible with financial investment from the following organizations and we gratefully acknowledge their encouragement and support.

The Arts Incubator - Winnipeg is a participatory arts collective and living lab, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. It's a space where innovation and creativity thrive. It's latest iteration was launched in 2021 with funding and support from the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse. Today, working with students and faculty from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, we fuse traditional and participatory media arts with artificial intelligence, music, storytelling and community-driven, land-based artist residencies to cultivate new voices and bold ideas. Whether through collaborative projects or immersive experiences, our small but vibrant community supports creators to explore, experiment, and connect. Join us at the intersection of artistry, technology, culture and community—where every moment is a new opportunity to create.
