Melgund Township Ignites National Kindness Week
There is no better way to kick off National Kindness Week than with a bang—literally. This Sunday, the community of Melgund Township gathered under a canopy of stars and sparks, proving that even the smallest towns have the biggest hearts.
While the rest of the province prepares for Family Day tomorrow, our community decided to get a head start on the celebrations. It was a day defined by neighborly warmth, shared meals, and a collective sense of gratitude. Being part of this community means being part of something larger than yourself, and seeing everyone come together for food, art, and laughter was a powerful reminder of what National Kindness Week is all about.
The Power of Community
The success of the day was a testament to the local spirit. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to the Local Services Board of Melgund and the Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture for their vision and dedication. Thanks for hosting our programs and showing us the best of the community.
The air was filled with the rhythmic tunes of The Birdfolk Buskers, whose performance set the perfect tone for a week dedicated to being good to one another. To the artists who showcased their talents and the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes: thank you. You didn’t just host an event; you created a moment of pure connection.
As we head into Family Day and the rest of National Kindness Week, let the glow of Sunday’s fireworks serve as a reminder to keep that light shining for our neighbours. Thanks to the community for showing our program an amazing time, and we loved every minute of it.
