Join us for an engaging and informative discussion on the current state of Manitoba’s electricity system—and where it could go. Our experienced panelists have spent years working within the provincial energy system and we are excited to bring them together to help us understand what we need at this pivotal moment.
You do not need to be an energy expert to attend this event. We aim to provide information and generate discussion whether you are an interested member of the public, a climate professional, a policy researcher or a community organizer working to advance the energy transition in Manitoba.
Speakers:
David Cormie
David Cormie is a professional engineer with over 40 years of experience with Manitoba Hydro. He was involved in energy and water management and hydro export sales to Canadian and US utilities. When he retired in 2020 he held the position of Director of Wholesale Power and Operations.
Bill Hamlin
Bill Hamlin is an electrical engineer and consultant. He worked at Manitoba Hydro for more than 25 years in various roles related to integrated resource planning, energy efficiency program planning, climate emissions reduction policy, and managing U.S. Midwest stakeholder relationships. He has been involved in the crafting of various Manitoba Hydro and Government of Manitoba emissions reduction plans.
