C.C. Trubiak releases second single from upcoming album Jukebox In Exile, out June 5.
FLIN FLON, Man. — Manitoba singer-songwriter C.C. Trubiak will release his new single “Being Rich” on May 17, the latest from his upcoming album Jukebox In Exile, coming out June 5.
The track is the second single from the record, following “Old Country Songs,” and continues a classic country sound influenced by artists including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
Trubiak has said the album was shaped in part by his experience during a wildfire evacuation from Flin Flon earlier this year, when he and his husband were forced to leave the northern Manitoba community with limited belongings and no access to his instruments.
He has described that period of displacement as unexpectedly reigniting his songwriting after a long stretch of creative uncertainty.
The album Jukebox In Exile draws on those experiences while also serving as a tribute to Flin Flon and the community he says supported him during the evacuation and its aftermath.
Earlier this year, Trubiak’s song “Outlaws Meditation” reached No. 28 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown. He also has an upcoming CBC interview scheduled.
Jukebox In Exile is out June 5.
