Art Borups Corners

Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario

The project is grounded in a dynamic process of collaborative engagement and capacity building, utilizing arts-based research methodologies to ensure the work is both relevant and empowering. A key focus is Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR), which positions young people as leaders in investigating their own economic realities and co-designing their futures. Through a series of co-design workshops, digital storytelling projects, and community forums, ECO-STAR North facilitates intergenerational knowledge transfer, connecting youth with Elders and established creators. This hands-on, community-led approach ensures the resulting toolkit is not an academic exercise, but a living, practical resource built by and for Northern innovators, strengthening a resilient and interconnected creative ecosystem.

Tiny Beaks, Big Appetites

See an adorable photo of baby robins with wide-open beaks, waiting for food. A heartwarming peek into a robin's nest and the joys of backyard nature.
Terri Bell June 7, 2025
These two little robin chicks are doing their best "feed me!" impression, and honestly, it's the cutest thing ever. So much life and anticipation in those tiny, open beaks! It's a privilege to witness these precious moments in nature.

A Glimpse into the Robin Nursery

Awww, look at these hungry little fluffballs! It seems like someone’s parents are doing a fantastic job keeping these mouths fed. There’s nothing quite like the sight of baby birds, all anticipation and wide-open beaks, waiting for their next meal. It’s a tiny, heartwarming drama playing out in a cozy nest, reminding us of the simple joys of nature and the incredible dedication of bird parents.

You can almost hear their excited chirps and imagine the flurry of activity as their parents zip in and out with tasty treats. These little ones are growing fast, and soon they’ll be ready to fledge and explore the big wide world. But for now, they’re safe and sound, nestled amongst the twigs and leaves, dreaming of worms and berries. It’s moments like these that make you want to just sit back and appreciate the small wonders happening all around us.
