Melgund Township Christmas programming in full swing!
The holiday season officially kicked off at the Melgund Township Recreation Complex this weekend as Pat and Robert set up the first Christmas tree at the Cook Shack. Their early-season dedication brought festive cheer to the grounds, signaling the beginning of a month filled with community spirit and winter celebrations.
Across the complex, volunteers, artists, and community members gathered to decorate the Dyment Recreation Hall and the Cook Shack, transforming familiar spaces into warm, welcoming hubs of holiday colour. Between hanging ornaments, stringing lights, and sharing stories, the day became as much about connection as it was about decoration.
With the trees standing tall and the halls glowing with fresh seasonal décor, Melgund Township is now poised for a joyful month ahead. Christmas activities, gatherings, and creative events will soon fill the calendar—each one built on the energy, generosity, and collaborative spirit that the community brought to this festive first weekend.
Thanks to everyone from the Local Services Board of Melgund, Melgund Arts, Recreation and Culture and Art Borups Corners for coming out to support this weekend’s decorating. It was a wonderful time for all!
