Arts Incubator Team Meeting – 8/15/2025

We are thrilled to present an invaluable professional development opportunity, particularly tailored for Northern and Northwestern Ontario artists, collectives, and groups. This week, our program delves into the fascinating world of archives, offering an essential exploration into how to effectively navigate and utilize these rich historical resources.
Participants will gain insight into prominent national archives, including the comprehensive collections at the Library and Archives of Canada in Ottawa and the historically rich Hudson Bay Company Archives in Winnipeg. Beyond these national treasures, we will also highlight vital local northwestern Ontario museums and resources that serve as crucial anchors for communities, offering support for their own local history and heritage programming.
This is a unique chance to learn how to unlock the stories within these historical repositories, discover new narratives, and seamlessly integrate archival research into your artistic practice and community initiatives. Don’t miss this engaging opportunity to expand your toolkit and deepen your connection to history and heritage.
About the Program
Our Incubator for Digital Arts and Cultural Entrepreneurship is relaunching in a newly upgraded physical space, significantly expanding our highly successful pilot program. Our core artistic idea is to empower community artists by merging traditional knowledge with contemporary digital technologies, fostering sustainable self-employment and community-driven arts sector development.
Each week will have a different theme, ranging from digital arts, tools and technologies, to administration skills, like grant writing, proposal writing, budgeting and advertising. It’s open to all, and we meet both in-person and online most weeks. We encourage you to contact us at info@artsincubator.ca for more information!
