Collective Meeting: January 21, 2026

Agenda / Notes:

  1. Consultation Session – NWMO DGR Integrated Impact Assessment
    • The group hosted a special consultation session focused on the integrated impact assessment (IAAC) planning phase for the NWMO Deep Geological Repository for nuclear waste.
    • Members reviewed comments and submissions from the community regarding the IAAC, which remains open until February 4, 2026.
    • The collective will prepare and submit a formal response to the IAAC next week on behalf of Art Borups Corners. The Local Services Board of Melgund will also be making a submission.
    • By majority vote of the members, Art Borups Corners authorized Jamie Bell, Karen Daignault, Norm Eady and Terri Bell to enter into a Contribution Agreement with the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada on behalf of our volunteer arts collective; and Designated these duly authorized signatory(ies) for the purposes of signing any applications for funding, the Contribution Agreement, or any other documents required under the Contribution Agreement
  2. Steering Committee Roles and Designated Titles
    • While the collective operates on a consensus-driven model without formal hierarchies, certain applications and programs require designated roles.
    • Assigned roles for administrative purposes and for signing of cheques and finances for 2026 are:
      • Karen Daignault – Chair
      • Norm Eady – Vice-Chair and Finance Committee Lead
      • Terri Bell – Secretary/Treasurer
      • Jamie Bell – Interim Executive Director
    • These roles were approved by consensus.
  3. Non-Profit Registration
    • Norm will complete the paperwork for registering the Non-Profit.
  4. Next Meeting / Upcoming Event
    • Date & Time: Saturday, January 24, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • Event: Special pop-up exhibition and community consultation in partnership with the Local Services Board of Melgund Recreation Committee regarding the NWMO DGR Impact Assessment.
    • Purpose: Collect community feedback; event open to all community members and interested parties.
