Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 aims to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources. It recognizes that the health of oceans and seas directly affects: rainwater; drinking water; weather; climate; coastlines; much of our food; the oxygen in our air.

SDG 14 aims for results such as: significantly reduced marine pollution; more sustainable management, protection and conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems; an end to overfishing and ghost gear

Our SDG tracker started with a simple idea during our pilot @1860 Winnipeg Arts project, funded by the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse with artists Jamie Bell and Tony Eetak.
This SDG tracker came about as a result of training and skills development supported by the Manitoba Arts Council Indigenous 360 program and artists Jamie Bell and Tony Eetak.
@1860 Winnipeg Arts Incubator program supports the Kivalliq Chamber of Commerce. Youth and artists from the Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse-supported @1860 arts incubator designed the new Chamber of Commerce website.

Our program is a pilot program aimed at building organizational capacity for arts administration, skills development and training. It was seeded by funding from the Canada Council of the Arts and Manitoba Arts Council.

This project builds on prior research supported by the Minneapolis College of Design Creative Entrepreneurship and Creative Leadership programs. From projects like Arctic Climate Entrepreneurship, Our People Our Climate, Creativity for Entrepreneurship and Niriqatiginnga, MCAD has been a strong supporter of Indigenous arts and creative cultural entrepreneurship programming and we thank them for being great partners and collaborators.
