Connecting Communities: Exploring historic St. Boniface

Carving Out Climate Testimony: Inuit Youth, Wellness & Environmental Stewardship and Inuit Qaujisarnirmut Pilirijjutit on Arctic Shipping Risks in Inuit Nunangat are among 13 projects announced for funding under the new Canada-Inuit Nunangat-United Kingdom (CINUK) Arctic Research Programme.

Tony Eetak is the youngest member of our digital and cultural incubator project. Originally from Nunavut, he is looking at completing his high school here in Winnipeg. An accomplished young musician, he started getting an interest in photography and climate entrepreneurship from taking the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Creativity for Entrepreneurship online course in 2021. He is an active volunteer with our incubator program and this year got his very first membership card from the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Tony will be exhibiting his photography officially for the first time as part of a hybrid in-person and virtual presentation of student art work and cultural entrepreneurship during the Inuit Studies Conference next month.

@1860 Winnipeg Arts is a small, community-driven arts entrepreneurship and cultural entrepreneurship program in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A new food sector entrepreneurship program is starting up this summer in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the coming months, a small group of youth artists studying entrepreneurship with the non-profit organization Niriqatiginnga are designing, marketing and selling a special edition line of homemade jams for the fall and holiday season.
