Listening Before We Build: Turning Surveys into Conversations
At the heart of ECO-STAR North lies a foundational idea: innovation doesn’t begin with invention—it begins with listening. Before we imagine, design, or develop, we want to hear from the people who know their communities best—the artists, cultural practitioners, environmental changemakers, and creative entrepreneurs shaping life across the North.
Our new community listening survey is not a typical form to be filled out and forgotten. It’s a space for reflection and dialogue—a way for us to start a meaningful exchange with you. Every response is part of a collective story that will guide how this project grows.

A Design Rooted in Care
We know how exhausting traditional surveys can be—long lists of questions, endless boxes to tick, little sense of purpose. That’s why we’ve reimagined the experience from the ground up.
The survey unfolds one question at a time through a calm, focused interface designed to feel intuitive and conversational. This progressive approach minimizes fatigue and makes it easier to respond thoughtfully. A clear progress bar keeps you oriented, while the flow encourages natural engagement rather than rushed clicking.
Every design choice reflects a simple commitment: to respect your time, your attention, and your voice.
Where Stories Meet Data
Understanding a community requires both clarity and depth. To that end, our survey combines data-driven structure with open-ended storytelling. We begin with short, simple questions that establish context—who you are, what you value, what you’re working on. Then, we invite you into reflection through scaled and open-ended prompts that explore the intersection of art, innovation, and climate action in your world.
Your words, not just your checkboxes, matter most. The stories and experiences you share will help shape a living picture of how creativity, culture, and sustainability are already transforming the North. This mixed-methods approach allows us to balance measurable insight with the lived knowledge only community members can provide.
From Feedback to Connection
We view participation not as an endpoint but as an opening. At the end of the survey, you’ll find optional ways to stay involved—whether by receiving the final results, hearing about upcoming opportunities, or joining our wider network of collaborators.
This structure ensures engagement happens by choice, not assumption. You decide how you want to connect, and your privacy is fully respected throughout the process.
Be Part of the Conversation
This isn’t just a survey—it’s our way of beginning a long-term partnership rooted in listening, trust, and shared creation. Your perspective will help shape what comes next.

About ECO-STAR North
ECO-STAR North is a cross-disciplinary initiative exploring how creative and technological innovation can be guided by community knowledge, cultural values, and environmental stewardship. Merging art, research, and climate action, the project reimagines conventional innovation frameworks through a decolonizing lens—one that values collaboration over competition and cultural sovereignty over extraction.
Part research lab, part creative movement, ECO-STAR North operates as a living social experiment, inviting artists, researchers, and communities to co-design the tools, stories, and strategies needed for a thriving, sustainable creative economy across the North.
