Transport your guests to the Amalfi Coast with these incredibly simple yet elegant Caprese skewers. They capture the essence of a classic Caprese salad in a fun, easy-to-eat format, making them the perfect starter for any gathering, from casual backyard barbecues to sophisticated dinner parties.
Materials
- 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine)
- 1 large bunch of fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 12-14 small wooden skewers
Preparation
- Rinse and pat dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
- Drain the fresh mozzarella balls from their liquid.
- Thread one cherry tomato, one folded basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto a skewer. Repeat the pattern so you have two of each on the skewer.
- Arrange the completed skewers on a serving platter.
