- The meeting was called to order at 7:12 pm by Chairperson Janet Connor.
- Janet read the minutes of Tuesday, May 13th, 2025 meeting.
- Having no errors or omissions the minutes were approved. Moved by Janet and seconded by Morris.
Correspondence:
- An email was received from NWMO advertising external job postings.
- An email was received from CKDR re: advertising for Canada Day.
Business Arising from the minutes:
Finalizing Canada Day
- 2 Door prizes will be purchased. Up to $75.00 – Michelle/Terri
- Inventory of the food / pop/ water will be done. We have had requests for smokies. Canada Day cupcakes – stay with 4 dozen
- Janet will be ordering the Hamburger / Hotdog buns from Safeway.
- Canada Day decorating
- Pat Daignault is to be getting us new flag(s).
- We have received our Food Permit from NWHU. We cannot serve gravy for the fries / poutine.
- Janet contacted Pam and Rob to see if they were available to help in the kitchen for Canada Day but unfortunately they are unavailable.
- Janet contacted Mac Print for our posters. They were too busy and could not get them to us early enough.
- Thanks to Jamie for making our Canada Day posters. Thanks to Gerry for printing them.
- Thanks to Pete and Morris for painting the dance floor.
- Terri and Michelle have been canvassing for donations for a Silent Auction for Canada Day.
- Morris and Michelle have made arrangements with CKDR to once again do our radio advertising and a copy of our poster will also be posted to CKDR website.
- Porta Potties will be delivered along with the tents next week. Once the date is known WE WILL BE IN NEED OF HELPERS TO PUT UP THE TENTS.
Plans are still underway for Hot August Night/ Afternoon Music Jamboree.
New Business:
- The cement slab has been poured for the extension to the cookshack and construction is to start early next week.
- Pete received quotes for a load of gravel to level off the ground in front of the cookshack and the addition. Tim Daignault will supply the gravel and Pete will spread it.
- Our audit for 2024 has been completed. Willie Winters met with the board and reviewed the audit.
- By-Law 04-2025 to approve and accept the 2024 audit by Winters and Company. Moved by Morris Robinson, Seconded by Pete Dunham.
Treasurer’s Report:
May 2025 Treasurer’s Report was presented. Having no errors or omissions, it was moved by Janet and seconded by Morris that the Treasurer’s Report be accepted as presented.
Upcoming Events:
- Canada Day, Tuesday July 1, 2025 12 to 5 pm
- Next regular Local Service Board Meeting will be Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 7pm at the hall.
