Spring Arts Exhibition

April 17 @ 1:00 pm - May 15 @ 4:00 pm
Free
This year’s Spring Arts Exhibition at the Dyment Recreation Hall in Melgund Township, Northwestern Ontario proudly features the powerful work of local Borups Corners artist Leanne Nicholson. Rooted in the landscapes and traditions of Northwestern Ontario, Leanne’s striking mixed-media art—ranging from intricately painted skulls and antlers to expressive wildlife imagery—captures the spirit of the land in a way that is both raw and deeply moving. Her nature-inspired work blends visual arts and found natural materials, creating a unique artistic voice shaped by resilience, lived experience, and a deep connection to place. We are excited to showcase her work and celebrate local art, creativity, and community at this year’s exhibition.

Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture and Art Borups Corners will host this year’s Spring Arts Exhibition, taking place from April 19 to May 17, 2026, at the lower-level art gallery and heritage space of the Dyment Recreation Hall. This exhibition offers a vibrant opportunity for local and regional artists to showcase their work and for community members to engage with the arts.

We are inviting local and regional artists to submit original works in any medium, including visual arts, mixed media, digital art, photography, or sculpture. Selected pieces will be featured throughout the exhibition, providing a platform to share your creativity with the broader community.

Volunteers are also welcome to support the exhibition. Tasks include helping with installation, gallery monitoring, assisting during events, and engaging with visitors. This is a great way to gain hands-on experience, meet artists, and contribute to a community celebration of the arts.
