Just soaking in the incredible details of this summer lupin! Those blues and purples, the intricate layering... it's a whole art piece in itself. Getting so much inspiration from nature's own designs lately!

Summer Blooms & Community Roots: A Pop-Up Exhibition and Community Consultation

Shake off the winter chill and join us on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Dyment Recreation Hall. Presented by Art Borups Corners and Melgund Recreation, Arts and Culture, this mid-day gathering blends local botanical beauty with vital community dialogue. We’ll have the hot chocolate ready and light refreshments waiting for everyone who drops by.

The hall will be transformed by a vibrant digital exhibition showcasing the hidden floral gems of our region. Using high-resolution screens, we are featuring a collection of plants and flowers captured during last summer’s arts program. This project, proudly funded by the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario, reveals a world of color many of us walk past every day without noticing. It’s a chance to see the local landscape through a new lens and appreciate the intricate biodiversity growing right in our own backyards.

While you take in the art, we invite you to participate in a critical Community Consultation. We are currently preparing a submission for the Impact Assessment regarding the NWMO Deep Geological Repository for Nuclear Waste Fuel, due on February 4th. This is an essential space for you to learn more about the project’s details and, more importantly, to share your personal perspectives and opinions on its potential impacts. Your voice is a necessary part of this process.

Whether you are coming for the art, the advocacy, or just a warm cup of cocoa, all are welcome. This event is about celebrating where we live while actively shaping its future. We look forward to seeing you there and hearing what you have to say.
