This week marks the exciting culmination of our month-long exploration into the powerful realms of storytelling and oral history. As we wrap up our journey, our focus sharpens on the crucial next steps: publishing and effectively communicating these invaluable oral history stories.

This session offers a unique professional development opportunity, particularly for artists, collectives, and groups throughout Northern and Northwestern Ontario, to gain essential skills in preserving and sharing cultural narratives. We will dive into dynamic brainstorming sessions, generating innovative ideas on how to construct and communicate your own bespoke databases of historical accounts.

Participants will also engage in practical exercises, learning to create compelling content designed to communicate and share the rich tapestry of local history and heritage. Discover strategies to ensure these stories not only endure but also resonate deeply with communities and wider audiences. Join us for a final, impactful session dedicated to empowering you to bring local narratives to life and make them accessible for generations to come.

About the Program

Our Incubator for Digital Arts and Cultural Entrepreneurship is relaunching in a newly upgraded physical space, significantly expanding our highly successful pilot program. Our core artistic idea is to empower community artists by merging traditional knowledge with contemporary digital technologies, fostering sustainable self-employment and community-driven arts sector development.

Each week will have a different theme, ranging from digital arts, tools and technologies, to administration skills, like grant writing, proposal writing, budgeting and advertising. It’s open to all, and we meet both in-person and online most weeks. We encourage you to contact us at info@artsincubator.ca for more information!
