Snow and street. Our path, right here in town. Where does it lead? What will it look like tomorrow? The light on the snow, it tells a story. A story of change, even here, where we live. This isn't just a street; it's our future, covered in white, waiting to be seen.

My Arctic Street

By Tony Eetak
Snow and street. Our path, right here in town. Where does it lead? What will it look like tomorrow? The light on the snow, it tells a story. A story of change, even here, where we live. This isn't just a street; it's our future, covered in white, waiting to be seen.

Walking the Changing Streets of Home

This photo shows a different side of our life here. It’s not the open land, but the streets where we live, where we used to play as kids. The snow piles high, and it’s part of everything, even in town. But you see the changes here too. The way the snow melts and freezes, the light… it’s all shifting. It makes you think about how even in our towns, we’re feeling the effects of a changing climate.

This road, it’s our everyday path. We walk it, we drive it. It connects us. But seeing it like this, with the snow taking over, it reminds you of how powerful the land is, even in our town. It’s a reminder that we’re part of this environment, even here. And what happens to the land, happens to us.

This image, it’s about seeing our home with new eyes. It’s about how the changes aren’t just out there, in the wilderness. They’re right here, on our streets, in our lives. As Inuit youth, this is our reality. This is what we see, what we live. And it’s important to show the world that even in our towns, the climate is changing, and it’s affecting us all.
