The Ultimate Culinary Mashup
Get ready for a flavor explosion in a tiny, crispy package! We're using wonton wrappers to create the perfect single-serving 'taco shell' baked right in a muffin tin. They're incredibly fun to assemble, even more fun to eat, and are guaranteed to be a hit with all ages.
Materials
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- Toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, sliced jalapeños
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
- Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, then layer a second wrapper on top, staggering the corners to form a cup shape.
- Bake the wonton cups for 5-7 minutes until they are lightly golden and crisp. Set aside.
Cooking
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground meat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
- Spoon the taco meat mixture evenly into the pre-baked wonton cups.
- Sprinkle the tops with shredded cheese and return to the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese is melted.
