Artsincubator.ca news

The Winnipeg Art Gallery was the place to be last month as our teams gathered for the first conference in-person in two years, and the very first for our incubator for digital arts and cultural entrepreneurship. In this photo, one of our favourites, we see a snapshot of youth being interviewed by CBC News about their work. Winnipeg has a truly incredible place for incubating the arts.

Call for Proposals: Witness Series
Deadline: Friday, March 15, 2024

The Arctic Indigenous Film Fund (AIFF) and Telefilm Canada invite proposals from Arctic Indigenous filmmakers to participate in The Witness short film series. This initiative aims to empower Indigenous filmmakers across the Arctic through training and workshops.

Selected filmmakers will participate in in-person workshops held in Canada and Norway, receive mentorship from Canadian Indigenous filmmakers, and obtain training grants to produce individual 3-5 minute short films.

Are you passionate about sharing stories from your Indigenous community? How is climate change impacting your everyday life? Do you possess a unique perspective on how individuals within your community are adapting, innovating, and navigating the changing Arctic landscape?

Share with us your idea for a short film exploring the themes of climate change, community, and people. Films should be between 3-5 minutes in duration. Join us in amplifying Indigenous voices and shedding light on the profound impact of climate change on Arctic communities.
