Welcome back to our daily dose of ‘Winter Stories’! This collection brings you fresh narratives from our ongoing creative arts, seasonal storytelling, and AI research initiative. It’s been an experimental and playful journey, driven by pure curiosity and a desire to learn. We’ve been exploring how winter—its snow, cold, and unique rhythms—shapes our narratives and helps us build digital literacy through engaging, frosty tales.
These short stories are designed to push the boundaries of storytelling, scriptwriting, and creative talent development, especially when focusing on winter’s impact on urban environments and Northern city experiences. Each piece is a step in our exploratory and experimental process, shining a light on how artists and writers find their voice amidst the chill, transforming fleeting moments into compelling narratives. It’s all about noticing the beauty and challenge of winter life.

About the Project
The Unfinished Tales and Short Stories collection was an interdisciplinary arts and narrative storytelling experiment in 2025. It was part of a creative arts and participatory research project by The Arts Incubator Winnipeg and the Art Borups Corners collectives. It focuses on two key areas: AI-Assisted Storytelling and Scriptwriting, exploring AI tools for generating ideas, plot structures, and story arcs; and Talent Development and Training, studying digital skills, literacy and training needs for creative professionals by experimenting with AI and immersive technologies to inform future projects.
