MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES AND INSPIRATIONAL STORIES by Art Borups Corners

Your Aura Is Not Glitching You Are Just Human

"Your quietness is its own flavour of cool; it is mysterious and coded as having a life."

Why forcing a loud personality is cooked and how to embrace your inner quiet background character.

Everyone keeps talking about having "main character energy" like it’s a subscription service you can just toggle on for ten bucks a month. It’s legit rotting my brain. If you aren't born with that specific brand of loud-mouthed audacity, trying to "fake it until you make it" just feels like wearing a damp wool sweater in thirty-degree humidity. It’s itchy, it’s heavy, and everyone can tell you’re suffering. Some of us weren't built for the spotlight, and honestly, why are we acting like being a background character is a failure of character?

I saw this girl yesterday standing near a hot dog stand looking like she wanted to evaporate because she accidentally made eye contact with the vendor. I felt that in my soul. My aura was literally vibrating in sympathy. Being bold is exhausting. It requires a level of social battery that most of us spent on just deciding what pants to wear. We live in this era where if you aren't constantly "slaying" or "taking up space," people assume you’re glitching. Being the person who just observes is actually a massive flex.

Stop trying to be the person who walks into the room and commands attention. Most of those people are just overcompensating for the fact that they can't sit with their own thoughts for more than five minutes. Your lack of "boldness" isn't a bug; it’s a feature. It means you’re really processing reality instead of just shouting at it. You don't need to be some shining example of anything. Just be a slightly awkward person who shows up. That’s the real motion.

Sometimes I think we’ve over-indexed on confidence as a personality trait. It’s become a performance. We’re out here trying to look "locked in" when we’re actually just trying not to trip over our own feet. And that’s fine. I would much rather hang out with someone who is vibrating with low-level anxiety than someone who thinks they’re the hero of a movie that nobody else is watching. Your quietness is its own flavour of cool. It’s mysterious. It’s coded as "actually has a life outside of social validation."

Next time you feel like you’re failing because you didn't have a witty comeback or you didn't "crush" a social interaction, just remember that the sun is literally screaming in space and we’re all just tiny specks on a rock. Your awkwardness is human. It’s fleshy. It’s real. Boldness is often just a mask people wear so they don't have to deal with the terrifying reality of being perceived. If you’re shy, you’re just being honest about how weird it is to be alive. Embrace the glitch. You’re doing great, even if you’re doing it quietly from the corner of the room while holding a lukewarm iced tea.
