MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES AND INSPIRATIONAL STORIES by Art Borups Corners

Stop Being Your Own Biggest Op

"Stop mourning the person you used to be; that person had to leave so you could arrive."

Growth isn't just about winning; it's about not hating the version of you that tried.

I’m actually losing my mind because you’re sitting there acting like you’re a side character in your own life. It’s the middle of July, the air feels like a warm damp towel, and you’re genuinely convinced you’ve peaked or, worse, that you’re just a flop. Look at me. I need you to lock in for a second. That version of you from two years ago? The one who thought they’d never survive tenth-grade math or that one breakup that felt like a literal chest wound? They grew. They’re gone, and you’re the upgrade, even if you feel like a glitchy beta version right now.

Having a growth mindset isn't some cringe corporate vibe your guidance counsellor tries to sell you during a mid assembly. It’s actually just the radical choice to stop being your own biggest hater. In psychology, there's this thing called the internal locus of control. It basically means you start believing that you actually have the wheel. If you think everything is just "luck" or "vibes," you’re giving away your power to a universe that doesn't even have a face. When you decide that your effort actually changes the outcome, your brain starts remapping itself. You aren't stuck; you're just rendering.

I get the nostalgia. I get looking back at old photos and missing when things felt "easy," but easy didn't make you this cool. You’re becoming someone who can handle the heat, and I don't just mean this disgusting humidity. This is about resilience. It’s about cognitive reframing—flipping the script so that a "failure" is just data. You didn't "lose"; you just found out one way that doesn't work. That’s science, bestie.

Stop mourning the person you used to be. That person had to leave so you could arrive. You have so much lore left to write, and you’re acting like the book is already in the bargain bin at Indigo. It’s not. You’re the main dev of this whole project. Start acting like you actually want the game to succeed. I’m obsessed with who you’re becoming, so the least you can do is give yourself a little bit of credit for making it this far without losing the plot entirely.
