Apply now to the Manitoba Indigenous Agriculture Relationship Development program

Apply for the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership's Indigenous Agriculture programs. Incubating relationship development, engagement and traditional food systems revitalization.

The latest intake for the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) Indigenous Agriculture Relationship Development program is accepting applications. This program made all the difference for our Niriqatiginnga youth as we grow from a small, grassroots project into a local and regional non-profit organization and capacity building program.

The Deadline to submit for Relationship Development and Engagement funding is 11:59 PM on July 4, 2024. For the Indigenous Agriculture Food Systems stream, the funding deadline is 11:59 PM on July 18, 2024.

These programs supported creating the conditions for our program, Niriqatiginnga, to grow and to create opportunities for Inuit, First Nations and Metis youth. The program staff at Manitoba Agriculture and the Sustainable CAP program are incredibly helpful and able to answer any questions you might have, so reach out and connect with them!

For our program, we were able to engage in knowledge sharing and skills training. We strengthened relationships with long-time collaborators from universities like the University of Minnesota Duluth and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the University of the Arctic and University of Victoria Community-Based Research Lab. We also learned about experiential and biophilic design methodologies and created the technological foundations for what will become our own food marketplace. In May 2024, our project wrapped up one of our first Niriqatiginnga projects with a special gathering of Indigenous artists supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Manitoba Arts Council., two of the most special and incredible organizations who made all of the work we are doing today possible.
