DESCRIPTION:Get to Know Nuclear Waste Projects Around the World: United Kingdom Geological Disposal Facility\nOther countries around the world are working in partnership with communities to find a suitable site for the long-term disposal of used nuclear fuel. Join us to hear about one of the United Kingdom’s largest environmental protection programmes\, a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF)\, including experience with transportation of used nuclear fuel\, engagement practices and lessons learned. \nAnnabelle Hall-Tomkin is a subject matter expert on the United Kingdom’s Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme and an experienced practitioner in nuclear related public and community engagement. She has spent the past nine years contributing to the UK’s Geological Disposal Facility programme for the safe and secure disposal of radioactive waste\, serving as Principal Community Engagement Advisor with Nuclear Waste Services (NWS). She has been central to shaping how communities participate in one of the country’s most significant long term environmental programmes working with Community Partnerships and developing guidance for communities in the siting process. \nThis special presentation\, hosted by the Nuclear Waste Management Organization\, will take place at the Dyment Recreation Hall on Wednesday\, May 6\, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:MOMENTUM: Session 4 will take place at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design August 5-6\n\n\n\n\n\nDate and Time: Aug 05\, 2026\, 8:00 AM CDT – Aug 06\, 2026\, 5:00 PM CDT\nLocation: Minneapolis College of Art and Design\, 2501 Stevens Ave\, Minneapolis\, MN 55404\, USA \nAbout the event\n\n\n\n\nMOMENTUM 2026 will hold its fourth full session at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design on August 5-6\, 2026. Sessions will run from 8 am to 5 pm on both days\, with optional networking and cultural events on the evenings of August 4 and 5.  \nThe 2026 topic is EXPANDING CHOICES FOR BOARD MODELS\, with the objective of generating a set of deeply considered alternatives to common or traditional non-profit board structures.  \nAfter registration\, participants will receive updates on pre-read materials and invitations to provide information to the central information pool. Materials and ideas generated in Minneapolis will be assembled and passed forward to all 2026 MOMENTUM Attendees. All materials generated from the entire MOMENTUM series will be provided to all participants from the entire summer and all share in collective rights to activate any of those materials and ideas\, with crediting to MOMENTUM and MOMENTUM participants as reasonable.
