DESCRIPTION:Get to Know Nuclear Waste Projects Around the World: United Kingdom Geological Disposal Facility\nOther countries around the world are working in partnership with communities to find a suitable site for the long-term disposal of used nuclear fuel. Join us to hear about one of the United Kingdom’s largest environmental protection programmes\, a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF)\, including experience with transportation of used nuclear fuel\, engagement practices and lessons learned. \nAnnabelle Hall-Tomkin is a subject matter expert on the United Kingdom’s Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme and an experienced practitioner in nuclear related public and community engagement. She has spent the past nine years contributing to the UK’s Geological Disposal Facility programme for the safe and secure disposal of radioactive waste\, serving as Principal Community Engagement Advisor with Nuclear Waste Services (NWS).
