Weekend Storytelling Workshop
January 17, 2025 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm CST
Join us for an unforgettable storytelling workshop at the Arts Borups Corners Land Lab, where we’ll dive deep into the art of participatory storytelling! This dynamic workshop is open to all – artists, writers, cultural enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the power of stories to connect, inspire, and transform.
What to Expect:
We’ll explore storytelling as a vibrant, collective experience, drawing on inspiring examples from our past projects with youth and artists. This workshop offers hands-on exercises and insights into:
- Interactive Storytelling: Learn how to co-create stories that are woven together through community voices and experiences.
- Indigenous Knowledge & Traditional Practices: Discover the timeless methods of storytelling that have shaped cultural identities and how they can meet new creative forms.
- Youth-led Narratives: Gain inspiration from our work with young creators who have shared their stories to bridge the gap between tradition and modern expression.
- Art & Digital Integration: Explore how we’ve brought storytelling into new realms with art and technology, including virtual spaces and digital media.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to the world of storytelling, this workshop will inspire you to see storytelling as a powerful tool for collaboration and creativity. Bring your ideas, your voice, and your imagination – together, we’ll craft stories that resonate across time and place!
Free and open to all. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register early! This is a hybrid event and we will have a link for those unable to attend in person.
