{"id":34646,"date":"2024-11-20T19:22:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T01:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artsincubator.ca\/digitalsalvage\/?p=34646"},"modified":"2025-04-14T15:15:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T20:15:01","slug":"arts-data-and-immersive-storytelling-with-three-js","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artsincubator.ca\/digitalsalvage\/ai\/arts-data-and-immersive-storytelling-with-three-js\/","title":{"rendered":"Arts, Data, and Immersive Storytelling with Three.js!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We\u2019re thrilled to unveil one of our &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/artsincubator.ca\/digitalsalvage\/stuff\/data.html\">just for fun<\/a>&#8221; projects for this year\u2014an innovative short course that brings together\u00a0<strong>art, data, and technology<\/strong>\u00a0in bold and transformative ways.\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Arts, Data, and Immersive Storytelling&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0is a hands-on program that pushes the boundaries of how we interpret and communicate complex data through artistic expression and cutting-edge tools like OpenAI\u2019s APIs and Three.js.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project builds on a foundation first piloted in <strong>2021-2022<\/strong> with strategic arts innovation funding from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/canadacouncil.ca\/funding\/strategic-funds\/strategic-innovation-fund\/innovation-grants\/digital-greenhouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canada Council for the Arts Digital Greenhouse<\/a>.<\/strong> During that time, we explored the potential of digital tools in climate storytelling and creative expression. We\u2019re incredibly thankful for their support, which made the initial exploration possible, and we\u2019re excited to bring this learning opportunity back\u2014this time, with even greater detail, depth, and impact!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time, we&#8217;re looking at open data from the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/artsincubator.ca\/digitalsalvage\/stuff\/data.html\">Ontario Arts Council<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This updated mini course is designed for creators, coders, and changemakers who are ready to explore the intersection of&nbsp;<strong>artificial intelligence, 3D visualization, and storytelling<\/strong>. Participants will learn how to process and visualize data, harness AI for narrative-driven projects, and build immersive, interactive experiences\u2014entirely through&nbsp;<strong>custom coding and open-source platforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine turning climate data into an interactive 3D experience or weaving a story of cultural resilience using AI-generated insights and visualizations.
