For millennia, memory has been a human-to-human affair, stories told around fires, lessons written in books, traditions lived out. Now, something else has arrived, an intermediary, a new kind of archivist. Artificial intelligence is forging a distinct third layer of memory, one that sits between generations, interpreting and shaping what comes next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn&#8217;t just about storing data. It\u2019s about active interpretation. Consider the vast, jumbled collection of a family\u2019s digital footprint: old emails, voice messages saved from a parent, countless photographs, social media posts, scanned documents. An AI system can sift through all of it. It can find patterns, identify relationships, stitch together narratives.
