Neighbors who spend weeks painting a public mural together learn how to negotiate, divide labor, and handle disagreements. They build a quiet network of relationships. Later, when a developer tries to bulldoze the local park, these same neighbors show up at city hall council meetings together, standing shoulder to shoulder because they already know how to work as a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can skip the next formal neighborhood board meeting and its endless, dry agenda. Instead, buy five cheap sketchbooks, knock on your weirdest neighbor&#8217;s door, and start drawing.
