The 10-Minute Jam Miracle
Craving homemade jam but short on time? This recipe is your answer. Using the natural gelling power of chia seeds, you can create a fresh, delicious, and nutrient-dense jam in minutes. It's a modern, healthy twist on a classic, bursting with the pure flavor of mixed berries.
Materials
- 2 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen and thawed), such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries
- 2 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
- If using frozen berries, allow them to thaw completely. Drain any excess liquid.
- Place the mixed berries in a bowl and mash them with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency – chunky or smooth.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of maple syrup (or honey), the chia seeds, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Taste and add more sweetener if desired.
Cooking
- There are no cooking steps for this recipe.
- Let the mixture sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken the jam. For a thicker jam, let it sit in the refrigerator for an hour or overnight.
