This summer, our program was able to focus on building capacity and professional development for interdisciplinary artists within Northwestern Ontario’s arts sector, with a special emphasis on music and community events. We have worked to create vibrant platforms where artists can share their talents, connect with audiences, and develop the professional skills needed to thrive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of our initiatives is thanks to the incredible support from our small, but growing community of artists, particularly the dedicated musicians, organizers, and volunteers who have contributed their time and energy. We are profoundly grateful for their collaboration, which has been instrumental in strengthening our local arts ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Maurice Betournay, a long-time musician, drummer, and dedicated community volunteer from Borups Corners who has been with our programs since the very beginning. Maurice has been a true champion for music events that bring community members together, attracting audiences from across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From helping to set up event tents to drumming for hours on end during music jams and open mic sessions, we simply would not have been able to make these events possible without his unwavering support. His dedication and passion have been a driving force behind our success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
